By attracting finances from the EU funds, LLC “Eco Baltia vide” will expand the sorting facilities in Ādaži
LLC “Eco Baltia vide” signed a contract with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (hereinafter referred to as “CFLA”) on the implementation of the project “Development and improvement of waste collection points in Ādažu Municipality” on 8 September 2017 (project ID No. 5.2.1.1/17/A/007). Within the framework of the project, 36 public waste sorting points will be refined in Ādažu Municipality, and one sorting point will be established. The pilot project also intends to place publicly available containers for the sorting of biodegradable waste. The project will be implemented within seven months from the conclusion of the contract.
The aim of the project is to create new and supplement the existing waste collection points (hereinafter – WCP) in Ādažu Municipality, to collect 368 tons of separately collected household waste per year.
Jānis Aizbalts, Director of LLC “Eco Baltia vide”: “We have planned that 36 already existing sorting points, which provided an opportunity to throw out glass packaging, will be supplemented with containers for biological waste and plastic packaging, while one sorting point will be built new and people will be able to throw out glass packaging, plastic packaging and biological waste. All containers will be placed within seven months.”
Māris Sprindžuks, Chairman of Ādaži Municipality Council: “No waste collection system is effective if people do not change their habits. Sorting of waste in each of our kitchens is the beginning of a model that can reduce waste costs and ensure recycling of resources. In the long run, the company will benefit double – without overpaying for re-sorting and obtaining a clean, unpolluted environment.”
It is planned that the total cost of the project “Development and improvement of waste collection points in Ādaži Municipality” will be EUR 41,848.21, while the eligible costs amount to EUR 34,585.30, out of of which the financing of the Cohesion Fund amounts to EUR 14,314.86, and that of LLC “Eco Baltia vide” amounts to EUR 20,270.44 and the ineligible costs of SIA “Eco Baltia vide” amount to EUR 7,262.91.
